Central Michigan University’s School
of Music announces the dates for its 2014 Summer Music Institute camp sessions.
This year’s institute features five camp sections, including Saxophone Camp, Reed
Making Camp, Flute Camp,
Tuba & Euphonium Camp and Clarinet Camp, all running from Sunday, June 22 through Friday, June 27th.
The Summer Music Institute offers a
unique opportunity for students to advance their musical and instrumental skills.
Intensive working sessions include sectionals, small ensemble rehearsals, and
master classes all with CMU Music Faculty. Private lessons with CMU Faculty Members
are available during the camps on a first-come-first-serve basis.
CMU Faculty Members for this year’s Summer Music
Institute include Dr. Joanna Cowan White, flute; Dr. Lindabeth Binkley, oboe;
Dr. Kennan White, clarinet; Professor MaryBeth Minnis, bassoon; Professor John
Nichol, saxophone; Dr. Mark Cox, tuba.
Camps are open to all
students entering their freshman year of high school through their freshman
year of college.
Tuition is $425 for boarding students and $275 for commuters. On-line registration for this year’s camps will be available the week of January 6th, 2014.
