Central Michigan University's School of Music announces Saxophone Day 2015.  Hosted by Professor of Saxophone John Nichol and the CMU Saxophone Studio, this biennial event takes place Sunday, March 29, 2015 in the School of Music on the campus of Central Michigan University.  

REGISTRATION: Free and open to all student & adult saxophonists, registration is as simple as emailing Professor John Nichol at nicho1ja@cmich.edu  All we need is your name, grade in school, and which saxophone you'll play that day.  

This year's event features guest saxophonist
Chien Kwan Lin, artist/professor of saxophone at the Eastman School of Music. Mr. Lin's highly successful career includes performing as a soloist, chamber musician, and his teaching at the Eastman School.  For his full bio, see Chien Kwan Lin

Sunday morning begins with a Master Class at 9 a.m. by Mr. Lin in Staples Family Concert Hall. Following a break for lunch, the Michigan Saxophone Ensemble will rehearse in Staples Family Concert Hall at 12 p.m. with all attending saxophonists participating. Following the rehearsal and a break, Mr. Lin presents his solo recital on the Staples Family Concert Hall stage at 3 p.m.*  

Following Mr. Lin's recital, the day concludes with performances by the CMU Saxophone Ensemble at 4:30 p.m. and the Michigan Saxophone Ensemble at 5 p.m., both in Staples Family Concert Hall.

*Tickets for Chien Kwan Lin's concert are $3 for students and seniors, and $5 for all others and are available January 19, 2015 by calling the Central Box Office at (989) 774-3045, or at the door.
