Opus XVII, Central Michigan University’s annual School of Music fundraiser, is scheduled for April 5, 2014. This year, for only the second time in the event’s history, it will be produced “on-the-road,” at the Richard and Helen DeVos Center for Arts and Worship on the campus of Grand Rapids Christian High School.
Opus centers around a one-hour collage concert by students of the CMU School of Music. We would like to share the concert with our Grand Rapids area music education colleagues and students—but without the $125 price tag. So we invite you and your students to attend the full dress rehearsal of the collage concert, free of charge, at 3:00 in the afternoon on the day of the concert. Your students will have an opportunity to learn how a touring show is organized and produced and how performers prepare for the unique challenges that touring presents. Best of all, they will hear some great music performed by talented musicians who are just a few years ahead of them.
Reserve a spot for your group below. For more information contact the School of Music Office of Music Events at (989) 774-3738 or email@example.com.
We hope you will be able to join us for this special Opus service to Grand Rapids area music educators and students.
