2018 Summer Music Institute

Sunday, June 17 - Friday, June 22nd

            Central Michigan University's School of Music announces its 2018 Summer Music Institute camp sessions. This year's Music Institute features the following Focus Camps and the faculty teaching them:

Flute –  Joanna White

Clarinet –  Kennen White

Saxophone –  John Nichol

Oboe Reed Making –   Lindabeth Binkley

Bassoon Reed Making –  Marybeth Minnis

Trumpet – Neil Mueller

Trombone – Robert Lindahl

Tuba/Euphonium – Mark Cox

Percussion – David Hall

            Summer Music Institute offers a unique opportunity for students to advance their musical and instrumental skills. Intensive working sessions include sectionals, small ensemble rehearsals, and master classes all with CMU Music Faculty. Private lessons with CMU Faculty Members are available during the camps on a first-come-first-serve basis.

            These six-day camps are open to all students entering their freshman year of high school through their freshman year of college. Registration applications for this year's camps are due June 1, 2018, with online registration going live January 12, 2018.
