According to Twain: Accounts, Tales, and Yarns
The Riecker Literary Series
Compiled, Adapted, and Directed by Jill Taft-Kaufman
This spoken word performance is an adaptation of a work that was originally performed for the stage and was heard on Public Radio in November of 2007. Compiled by Dr. Jill Taft-Kaufman from various works of Mark Twain, the majority of the text is from four sources: How to Tell a Story (1897), A Literary Nightmare (1876), Extracts from Adam's Diary (1904) and Eve's Diary (1906). This recording is part of The Riecker Literary Series at Central Michigan University which focuses on presenting American literature as literary theatre. The compact disc includes a cast of five actors and features original music by the Northwoods Improvisers. The recording is being offered free of charge to educators throughout the country through the generous sponsorship of John and Ranny Riecker.
