Combine a few fiddle tunes, a new take on some old songs, and you will get one of the freshest sounding folk bands to come out of Michigan. The famed dancers Nic Gareiss and Nellie Schrantz, show not only their dancing skills, but also their vocal and instrument chops along with bandmates Bud Greenman and Bill Weigandt. Traditional music is meant to be played live, and that is the way this recording was made. Most of the tracks were laid down all at one time, with the band playing off each other just as they would on stage. The enhanced portion of the CD includes plenty of details on the heritage of the tunes as well as a handful of session photographs of the band.
