Join us for a College of Communication & Fine Arts (CCFA) Discovery Day and discover what it is like to study music at CMU! 

A CCFA Discovery Day for Music generally includes the following:

  • A brief presentation about the Undergraduate Admissions process
  • An overview of the different undergraduate programs and opportunities offered in the College of Communication and Fine Arts, including Music
  • A tour of the School of Music lead by a current CMU Music Major
  • The opportunity to observe or participate in a Studio Class on your voice or instrument (schedule permitting)
  • A complimentary lunch at Fresh, one of our Residential Restaurants 
  • A brief tour of Herrig Hall, the School of Music Residential college
  • A complimentary lesson or meeting with the faculty member of your voice or instrument (schedule and availability permitting)
  • A meeting with the School of Music Academic Advisor, Prof. MaryBeth Minnis
  • The opportunity to observe music classes or ensemble rehearsals available on the CCFA Discovery Day Music Schedule.
