Denise Webster is the Interim Associate Dean of The Herbert H. & Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions.
Ms. Webster began her career at CMU as an Instructor and the Head Women's Athletic Trainer. She served as an athletic trainer for the Department of Athletics and the Clinical Education Coordinator for the athletic training education program from 1985 to 2000. She earned tenure and the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education and Sport in 1991. She served as the Program Director for the athletic training education program from July 2000 to December 2004 prior to assuming the Director for Curriculum and Assessment in the Office of Academic Affairs from January 2005 to August 2009. Throughout her career, Ms. Webster has served on numerous committees, task forces, councils, and in other capacities representing the university and the College of Health Professions.
Ms. Webster earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, in Health and Physical Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science degree in Health from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She spent 5 years at the University of Arizona as an assistant athletic trainer before arriving at CMU. She has taught various courses in the CAATE-accredited athletic training program over the past 30 years. She has been a certified athletic trainer since 1979 and is a licensed athletic trainer in the State of Michigan.
