Title: Watershed Outreach Coordinator
Employer: Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan
Education: B.S. in Environmental Health & Safety, 2015
"In 2015, I graduated from CMU with my B.S. in Environmental Health & Safety. I worked as a student assistant for eight months with the MDEQ where I helped to update the Part 201 Cleanup Criteria. I have now been with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe working as a Watershed Outreach Coordinator for three years. I provide education/outreach opportunities for the community, work with partners on local watershed project, and represent the Tribe on environmental issues at conference/meetings/etc. Some of the exciting projects I am working on now are planning the following events: Anishinaabe Environment and Culture Camp, Chippewa River Watershed Festival, and a really exciting Sustainability Series. I have also been working to write grants to help expand the Tribe's Environmental Team. I really enjoy my job and could not have accomplished this without my degree from CMU."
