Association for Future Speech-Language Pathologists (AFSLP)
AFSLP is an undergraduate organization for students majoring in communication sciences and disorders and planning to pursue careers such as speech-language pathology. The purpose of AFSLP is to help prepare students for graduate school and their future careers by exposing them to current "hot topics" and experiences within the field. Members participate in social, fundraising, volunteer, and scholarship opportunities to engage with their peers and expand their knowledge about the profession.

Speech-Language and Hearing Club (SLHC)
SLHC is an undergraduate organization for students interested in the field of communication sciences and disorders (speech-language pathology and/or audiology). This organization explores options for graduate school, important information for the CSD Major, as well as presentations by various guest speakers (faculty and staff of the CSD department and CSD professionals from the surrounding area.) Members participate in social, volunteer, and fundraising events. All of the proceeds from SLHC fundraising events go toward the sponsorship of children receiving speech and language treatment at the CMU Summer Specialty Clinic.

PASO is an undergraduate student organization for students interested in the field of audiology.

Professional Organizations

National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA)
According to NSSLHA "The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is the only national student organization for pre-professionals studying communication sciences and disorders (CSD) recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Established in 1972, NSSLHA is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, and support 13,400+ members and 300+ chapters at colleges and universities nationwide.

Michigan Speech Language Hearing Association (MSHA)
Michigan Speech Language Hearing Association is an organization comprised of current professionals and future professionals in the fields of speech-language pathology and audiology. MSHA holds an annual conference and professional service seminars.

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is a nationwide professional, scientific, and credentialing organization with 198,000 members including audiologists, speech-language pathologists and students.

American Academy of Audiology (AAA)
According to the American Academy of Audiology, "The American Academy of Audiology is the world's largest professional organization of, by, and for audiologists. The active membership of more than 12,000 is dedicated to providing quality hearing care services through professional development, education, research, and increased public awareness of hearing and balance disorders."
