Summer Specialty Clinics

The Summer Speech-Language Specialty Clinics was established more than half a century ago by the CMU Department of Communication Disorders, to provide services for children between the ages of 3 and 14 years with communication impairments. This unique program provides: 1) A combination of communication intervention, social skills instruction, and recreation experiences for children who are communicatively challenged; and 2) Educational experience for students in the Department of Communication Disorders.

    Is my child eligible to participate?

    The Summer Speech-Language Specialty Clinics are designed for children and young adolescents with communication disorders who can benefit from an intensive intervention program. Candidate eligibility is determined through an application process that considers the participants age, the nature and severity of the communication disorder, and the availability of services needed by each prospective applicant.
