Dr. Ivanitskaya's work has been funded, in part, through grants by the State of Michigan and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She served as a Principal Investigator of a research study that validated an electronic health information literacy assessment for health pre-professionals. The outcome of the study was a self-assessment for health information consumers who go online to find answers to health-related questions.  In addition, Dr. Ivanitskaya was a Co-Principal Investigator of a personnel allocation model for Michigan State Police. The model calculated minimum staffing needs and performance staffing needs based on unobligated time, patrol intervals, and shift relief factors. This research was subsequently extended to nurse staffing and presented at the Academy of Management Conference.
