Ms. Theresa Ames is the executive secretary in the Health Administration Division assisting with the Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) Program and the Health Administration Undergraduate Program, the International Health Certificate, Health Systems Leadership Certificate within the School of Health Sciences. Additionally, she also supports the Health Administration Division Advisory Council and the Doctor of Health Administration Alumni/Student Network Board of Directors. She has supported the DHA Program, as well as, the other listed  since June 2005.

Theresa joined the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions as temporary staff with the Dean's Office in January 2005 but has been employed in various temporary office positions throughout Central Michigan University since January of 2003. Prior to joining Central Michigan University, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Clare/Gladwin Intermediate School Districts with the Clare, Farwell and Harrison Schools and at Mid-Michigan Community College. Ms. Ames was also formerly employed with Central Michigan Newspapers in their Clare office for two years prior to the office closing in 2001 as the office secretary.

She is a 2000 graduate of Davenport University and holds three Associate in Applied Science Degrees in the fields of Office Information Specialist, Business Information Specialist and Administrative Secretary with an Executive Emphasis. She also holds an Office Communications Certification, earned in 1995 from Davenport University.

Ms. Ames and her husband Ken recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They are the parents of six grown children: Chuck (CMU 1999), Ken (CMU 2002), Shannon (CMU 2006), Geoff, Brandon and CMU Sophomore, Tammy.  They have nine (9) Grandchildren, Morgan, Kylie, Karleigh, Travis, Mallory, Autumn, Landon, Aiden and Hailey. They’ve experienced the loss of two grandchildren., Paige in 2012 and another in 2016.
