Lewis-Kopka is a lecturer in the Health Administration program in The Herbert
H. & Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions School of Health Sciences
at Central Michigan University. Before earning her doctorate in health
administration, Dr. Lewis-Kopka was an occupational therapist with over 15
years of experience in skilled nursing working with the geriatric population.
Dr. Lewis-Kopka became a Level II senior occupational therapist, receiving
specialty certificates in vestibular rehabilitation and dementia with a focus
on fall prevention.
Lewis-Kopka received her bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Baker
College in Flint, Michigan. Dr. Lewis-Kopka continued her educational pursuits
and received a master’s degree in gerontology and a doctoral degree in health
administration from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona.
Lewis-Kopka’s teaching experience includes Saginaw Valley State University in
Saginaw, Michigan and Davenport University in Grand Rapids, teaching courses in
occupational therapy and research.
