Aquatics refers to sports and activities performed in the water.
Aquatic Classes at CMU:
CMU offers two main types of aquatic classes, Swimming and Aqua Aerobics.
PED 127, 129, 130: Swimming classes are available at three levels of expertise, Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Check with the instructor or department secretary if you need advice on which class to choose. From leaning how to swim to refining advanced form and technique, any swimmer should be able to find personalized instruction to help them improve. These classes last 50 minutes and meet twice a week for 8 weeks in both the Spring and Fall semesters.
PED 123: Aqua Aerobics. Aqua aerobics or 'water aerobics' refers to a type of exercise involving no impact and lots of fun! Students learn ways to stay healthy and improve their cardiovascular fitness. They use different types of equipment while performing numerous aerobic exercises. It is extremely beneficial for those with joint problems or who suffer from other high impact cardiovascular activity. These classes last 50 minutes and meet twice a week for 8 weeks in both the Spring and Fall semesters.
