Class of 1998
Michele Brannan works full-time as a Family Practice PA for Sparrow Family Medical Group in the Dewitt, Michigan office. There she lives with her husband and two daughters.
Candace (Parker) Fleming currently is retired and spends her days raising her two boys, Harrison and Brooks. She and her husband are awaiting the birth of their third child in November 2008. Following graduation, Candy worked for three years at White Lake Family Practice in Montague, Michigan, and for four years at Centennial Pediatrics in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2006, she and her family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where they currently reside.

Sheila Wing works as a Cardiothoracic PA for Michigan Caridiovascular Institute out of four local hospitals in Saginaw, Michigan. Sheila takes PA, NP, and nursing students and also works with medical students and residents. Although her children are now grown, she enjoys her beautiful granddaughter who, Sheila says, is an absolute joy. She has returned to school to earn her MBA. Sheila continues to live in Midland, Michigan.
Shannon (Cartmill) DeLong works part-time in a family practice in Orlando, Florida where she lives with her husband, Brad, and son, Max. After graduation, Shannon was employed with Janes Street Community Health Center in Saginaw, Michigan for 2 ½ years. She later moved to Orlando and continued to work in community health care until after the birth of her son. Although she enjoyed the community health care setting and learned a tremendous amount, her part-time family practice work allows Shannon the opportunity to spend more time with her son.

Jason Grove lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he works for the University of Michigan Health System in the division of Gastroenterology. His responsibilities consist primarily of performing inpatient consultations and capsule endoscopy and staffing the urgent care clinic. He lives with his wife and two sons.
Katrina Stachowiak works at Physician HealthCare Network Urgent Care in Port Huron, Michigan. She spends most days in the Urgent Care and also picks up shifts at Port Huron ER and the Occupational Health Clinic. Katrina previously worked at Sparrow Hospital ER. She married Todd Stachowiak (class of 2000) in 2003, and they now have a daughter and a baby on the way.
Kim Tew works part-time for Spectrum Health Urgent Care in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As part of the Urgent Care team, she works for GVSU Campus Health two days per week. Kim says she "really enjoys" the college students. The population is very receptive to education, and the Urgent Care allows a lot of variety in procedures. When Kim is not working, she stays home with her three children, the oldest of whom she home-schools. She and her husband have been married for 10 years and live in Allendale.

Mary (Curuda) Mankey currently works in a family practice in Perry, Michigan through Owasso Memorial Hospital. Following graduation from CMU's PA program, she worked at the Gratiot Urgent Care in Alma, Michigan from 2001to 2008. She recently married Mick Mankey and they reside in Dewitt, Michigan. She would like everyone to know that her boys are all doing fine.
Angela (Arnone) Mayo works as a PA at Mayo Clinic-Arizona in the Department of Hematology. She lived and worked in Saginaw for six years before making the move. Angela has worked in Hem/Onc since graduating from CMU. She and her husband live in Scottsdale, Arizona with their adorable and spoiled puppy. They love their non-Michigan winters!
Heidi Schultz works as a PA with Midwest Thoracic Surgeons, a general thoracic group that covers both Royal Oak and Troy Beaumont, Michigan. She also works one day per week for Ellen A. Janeztke, MD, private plastic surgeon in Birmingham, Michigan. Heidi previously worked in the ER at William Beaumont Royal Oak for two years.
Marcie Stieg-Williams currently resides in Reed City with her husband, Eli, and two sons, Isacc and Owen. She has worked at Ob/Gyn of Big Rapids for more than 5 ½ years.

Angie Beckhold works at Family Health Center in Portland, Michigan, which is owned by Ionia Hospital (an affiliate of Sparrow Hospital). She previously worked at Sparrow ER. Angie is married and has two children, a daughter and a son. Angie says her children are her number one joy in life and feels God has blessed her in so many wonderful ways. She couldn't dream of anything more.
Aaron Hewitt is working in Charlotte, North Carolina for OrthoCarolina, the second largest orthopaedic group in the nation. OrthoCarolina consists of 75 MDs and 35 PAs. Aaron works in the Sports Medicine Department (he was an Athletic Trainer from CMU). He is also the Assistant Manager for the PA group, and says they are a very strong and well organized group of PAs who he believes makes up the largest collection of PAs in a private practice. Aaron spends half his time seeing patients in the office and the other half in surgery with one primary MD. He has the opportunity to do many cutting edge things that aren't readily available elsewhere. Aaron says PAs are so appreciated in North Carolina and he thinks his job is FANTASTIC!
Tajuana (Crosby) Lordeus works at Cape Fear Valley Health Expresscare in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Upon completing a family practice rotation in Wilson, North Carolina, Tajuana accepted a job with a designated health professional shortage area clinic site, where she worked for five years at Johnston County Public Health Department in Smithfield, North Carolina. Despite the long hours, she loves her job. Tajuana was married in April 2008 and honeymooned in London, Paris, and Rome. She has a five year-old stepdaughter named Allianaha and a three year-old German shepherd named Malcolm. They all reside in Clayton, North Carolina.
Jodi McCollum works as a Trauma Surgical Physician Assistant at the Level II Trauma Center in the Upper Peninsula, Marquette General Hospital, where she works with a group of six surgeons. She also is theTrauma Program Manager for the hospital. She and her husband, Mike, have 4-year-old triplets, Tom, Abby and Joe. She says the kids keep them busy!!
Paul Meek works full-time as a Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery PA at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Upon graduation from CMU, he completed the SJMH Cardiothoracic Surgery PA Residency program and was hired on as staff in 2003. He now lives in Dexter and enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his wife.
Matthew Stack returned to CMU in 2007 as an Associate Professor and Regional Clinical Education Coordinator for the Physician Assistant Program. He spends one day per week working in a family practice in St. Johns. Prior to joining the faculty at CMU, Matt served as a psychiatric PA at The Guidance Center in Flagstaff, Arizona; faculty at the Southwest School of Missions; and as a family practice and emergency department PA on the Navajo Indian Reservation. Matt is interested in whole person health care and promoting opportunities in cross culture and rural medicine. He enjoys his free time in Sumner with his wife, Sue, and their four sons and one daughter.
Aimee (Young) Whitmer has worked for two physicians at UP Otolaryngology in Escanaba, Michigan since graduation. She is the first and only PA at this practice. Aimee and her husband, Hans, have four children all under the age of four: Madine, Cecilia, Nicholas, and Brigid. Aimee and her family enjoy the beauty of living and working in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.

Nick Himmel works in a family practice setting for Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe, Michigan. He met his wife, Sharon, while attending PA school. They have two children, Katherine and Little Nick. They own a small farm in Elkton and bale hay for fun! As a family they enjoy playing in the yard, going to the beach in Caseville, and eating pizza! Nick says he has great memories of CMU's PA Program and the wonderful classmates he met.

Autumn (Travis) Hopkins was excited about the opportunity to return to her hometown of Paw Paw, Michigan to work at a family practice. She is married to Sean, an RN at Borgess-Pipp ER in Plainwell, Michigan. Together they have a daughter named Meredith who enjoys her days with Grandma and Grandpa while her parents are serving the health care needs in their community. They purchased a house in Portage and have enjoyed making it their own.
Kelly (Hardy) Holmes works in the Emergency Department at Genesys Regional Medical Center. She previously worked in primary care for the Michigan Department of Corrections and a private cardiology practice. She and her husband, Scott (class of 2003), along with their daughter, Anna Jane Holmes, live in Fenton. They enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening, attending concerts, cooking, and traveling.

Scott Holmes works in the Emergency Department at the University of Michigan and as an ED at Memorial Hospital in Owosso, Michigan. He and his wife, Kelly (class of 2003), along with their daughter, Anna Jane Holmes, live in Fenton. They enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening, attending concerts, cooking, and traveling.
Heather (Eid) Hubert works in Orthopedics at the University of Michigan. She and her husband, Steve (class of 2003), live in Brighton with their crazy pup, Reese.
Karen (Bailey) Koch works for Alcona Health Centers, a family practice in Oscoda, Michigan. She and her husband, Dave, along with their daughter, Rayna, live in Spuce. Karen says being a mom is the best!
Stephanie (Lousia) Weinberger works part-time for IMID Consultants, a private ID practice, through DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Michigan. She lives in Commerce Township with her husband and two children, Owen and Anna.

Mandy German works full-time at a family practice in her hometown of Belding. She and her husband, Christopher, have four girls-- Emily, Abigail, Isabel, and Ruby.
Amber Corneillie works in Dermatology & Skin Surgery in Marshall, Michigan, and resides in Kalamazoo. She previously worked in General Surgery in Kalamazoo. Amber says dermatology is a great specialty!

Nikki (Rataj) Cassady is a dermatology PA for Bobbi Edwards, MD in Southfield, Michigan. She was married to Ryan Cassady in 2005 on Mackinac Island. They have two dogs named Brinkley and Dougal. Together they live in Ferndale.

Sarah (Sheppard) Grant works for Orthopaedic Associates of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She works with foot and ankle surgeons, keeping busy with a mix of office and OR. After graduation she completed a year-long residency program in orthopaedic surgery just outside of Chicago, Illinois. She now lives in Ada with her husband, Brad, and son, Sam. They are expecting a second bundle of joy in October 2008!
Angie (Peters) Knutson works in the Emergency Department at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Regions Hospital is a teaching hospital, which she says was a great transition into her career. She is given great independence, but also has a supportive staff available at all times and receives constant updates on the latest medical care. They have a team of 16 PAs and are treated very well. She plans to stay at this site for a few more years before she and her husband move back to his home in the Colorado/Wyoming area. There she hopes to switch to more rural medicine.
Kacie Burrows (a.k.a. Acacia Cleveland) works at Cereal City Pediatrics in Battle Creek, Michigan. After graduation she worked at a pediatric practice in Marshall, which closed 14 month later. Kacie says she loves pediatrics, although it is not an area in which she initially planned to work. She wished to pursue surgery or ER during her first year of PA school, but through her clinical rotations found that she enjoyed primary care and loved working with children. After graduation, Kacie married Brian Burrows. They have a daughter, Grace. Together they live on Lee Lake just south of Battle Creek.
Jennifer Boettcher has worked as an ICU PA at Beaumont Hospital in Troy since 2007. She began her PA career in internal medicine at Beaumont immediately after graduation. She loves her job!

Jennifer Chapp works full-time in the Emergency Department at Henry Ford Hospital in the West Bloomfield and Fairlane Centers. She also works one day per week in a Pediatric Clinic performing physicals. She lives near her family in Troy, Michigan and enjoys traveling and catching up with her classmates from CMU.
Amy (Cappo) Doornbos currently works as a PA in hematology/oncology at Covenant and St. Mary's Hospitals in Saginaw, Michigan. She really enjoys her job and the people with whom she works. Following graduation, Amy worked in pain management for one year at Beaumont in Royal Oak, Michigan, where she really enjoyed being co-workers with Nikki Rataj (Class of 2005). On July 28, 2007, she married her husband, Mike, and they currently reside in Midland with their cat, Milo.
Robin Iknayan works in orthopaedic surgery in Prince Frederick, Maryland (southeast of Washington, DC). She is engaged to be married in the summer of 2009.

Carolyn (Swanson) Adamson has worked with the Internal Medicine Specialist Service at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan since graduation. She lives with her husband and their son, Quinton, in Portage.
Heather Davidson was offered a position prior to graduating in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery with an ENT doctor, Ray Cameron, in her hometown of Iron Mountain, Michigan. She sees patients in the office and hospital and assists in surgery. Heather says she usually assists in the big cases that Dr. Cameron needs a second set of hands for, including lesion removals with flaps or graphs, parotidectomy, thyroidectomy, tracheotomy, neck dissections for enlarged lymph nodes or neck masses, BAHA surgery, and more. She also performs lesion removals in the office.

Joni James, 2007 class president, works as a surgical PA at Alpena Regional Medical Center in Alpena, Michigan. She enjoys surgery and is considering a surgical residency. Joni is single and spends much of her free time with her four-year-old grandaughter, Mallory. Joni has two grown daughters, Nichole and Trisha. Nichole is a graduate of the CMU PA Class of 2005 and is a hospitalist PA at Marquette General Hospital. Trisha attends the Radiology program at Mid-Michigan College.
