Welcome to the Physician Assistant Program in The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions at Central Michigan University. Our Master of Science in Physician Assistant Program was established in 1996 with a strong foundation in medicine and primary care.
As faculty and staff, we are dedicated to helping students be successful as students and clinicians. Through our unique and innovative didactic curriculum, our distinctive mentorship program, extensive clinical training, and our state-of-the-art facility, we place a special emphasis on the delivery of primary care to individuals and communities in rural and underserved areas. We constantly strive to develop compassionate, diverse, and professional leaders who are exceptionally trained in providing ethical health care.
Today, more than 400 CMU-trained physician assistants are serving the diverse needs of the health care industry throughout the world. Graduates have enjoyed 100% employment within two months of graduation, many receiving multiple job offers during their clinical training. We have graduation rates and test scores exceeding both regional and national averages. In 2007, CMU PA students scored the highest of any class nationwide on the PACKRAT examination, 17% higher than the national average score. We are proud to say, every year CMU students consistently score well above the national average on this nationwide exam.
The balance of a strong didactic curriculum, mentorship program, and clinical training provides our graduates with the skills to succeed as a health care provider anywhere in the world. We invite you to browse our web site or visit our campus to see for yourself why the PA Program at CMU is ranked among the top PA programs in the nation.
