Greg Ott, an '08 Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre alum is currently a Chicago-based comedian, writer, producer, and actor with The Second City Touring Company. Greg also writes original comedy sketches and teaches improvisation workshops for The Second City.
When Greg is not on the road with The Second City Touring Company, he appears in commercials and voiceovers for clients like McDonald's and Coors Light. He puts his writing, directing and acting skills to good use in productions at The Annoyance Theatre in Chicago, including Chris Gaines in…The Life of Garth Brooks (for which his portrayal of Chris Gaines earned him 3 out of 4 stars from the Chicago Tribune) and Big Sausage Pizza: The Musical. Greg has extensive experience writing, producing and acting in corporate videos for national commercial clients and ad agencies including Jones Lang LaSalle and Omobono.
While at CMU, Greg was a member of Alpha Psi Omega, the national honorary theatre fraternity and he performed in numerous University Theatre and Summer Theatre productions. He founded the first on-campus improv group, "Friday Night Improv" which is still in existence under the name, "Trap Door Improv." Greg wrote and starred in "3DGTV," a sketch comedy show which aired on student-run television station, MHTV.
