Central Michigan University's School of Music announces its 2019 Summer Music Institute camp sessions. Open to students entering the 9th Grade through their first year in college, this year's Music Institute features the following Focus Camps and the faculty teaching them:
Summer Music Institute offers a unique opportunity for students to advance their musical and instrumental skills. Intensive working sessions include sectionals, small ensemble rehearsals, and master classes all with CMU Music Faculty. Private lessons with CMU Faculty Members are available during the camps on a first-come-first-serve basis for an additional fee.
All campers can look forward to an exciting week, full of great music making, outstanding instruction, and new friendships, all held within a supervised environment on our beautiful campus. Our best CMU music majors serve as counselors (10 campers to 1 counselor) and teaching assistants, offering supervision and mentorship that supports campers participating in the CMU Summer Music Institute.
Oboists and Bassoonists will pay an additional $45 to cover the cost of provided reed making supplies. These six-day camps are open to all students entering their freshman year of high school through their freshman year of college.
If you have any questions about the camp, please contact the School of Music at 989-774-3281.
Registration is now closed.
