She began her career as a performer with “Second Stride” dance company and as a choreographer creating works commissioned by The Place, London. Following the success of several works with American composer Philip Glass, she became resident choreographer and later director at English National Opera, London. As opera director she created productions for The Lyric Opera of Chicago, Los Angeles Opera, Seattle and San Francisco Operas, Netherlands Opera, Wiesbaden & Kiel Operas, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, BBC Proms, Opera de Paris Bastille.

She published her own movement method – ‘The Energy Source’ – simple daily exercise for mind and body vitality – enhancing movement through the visualisation of energy. This work she integrated into productions at ENO, Opèra de Paris and the ROH. It was recognized with a Laurence Olivier nomination for outstanding achievement in Opera and has become the foundation of her teaching to this day. Today, Clare specialises in the integration of holistic wellbeing and dance – teaching holistic approaches to the training of professional classical ballet notably for RESEO members Finnish National Ballet and Opera de Paris and on the Professional Dancer’s Postgraduate in Teaching at Berlin Staatsballett, RAD.
