Jazz will resonate once again across CMU's campus during the 47th Annual Jazz Weekend, February 6-7, 2020. This annual event offers a full line-up of jazz performances by CMU faculty, students, and the most talented high school jazz musicians from across the state of Michigan. Attending bands have the opportunity perform for top Midwest clinicians and adjudicators.
Jazz Weekend brings together outstanding guest artists, clinicians, and over 1,200 high school and junior high school students from nearly 70 big bands and jazz combos. Top clinicians and adjudicators from around the Midwest provide commentary and suggestions throughout the day as High School and Junior High School groups perform for ratings and awards. In addition, all band and combo performances are recorded and copies given to Directors.
