​​ ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Music Building at CMU is a modern 119,000-square-foot facility. You’ll learn, practice, and perform in a state-of-the-art 500-seat concert hall with a 61-rank Casavant organ, a 100-seat recital hall, digital audio technology labs, recording facilities, and a Music Resource Center.

As a music major, you can live in the School of Music Residential College, surrounded by peers who share your interests and goals. CMU ensembles, chamber groups, and solo performers participate in festivals, competitions, and conferences at the state, national and international levels.

Performance Spaces

Staples Family Concert Hall, seats 500 and features recording and broadcasting systems. The School of Music hosts over 300 events annually, including Guest Artist concerts, Faculty Artist concerts, Student Ensembles, an annual Opera production, lectures, and other special events.

Chamichian Recital Hall, seats 110 and is a state-of-the-art stage for student recitals, studio recitals, lectures, and chamber music.
