CMU's School of Broadcast & Cinematic Arts to feature a Q & A session at 12 p.m. and live in-studio concert simulcast at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

The Artist:

Jena Irene (Jena Irene Asciutto)

Hailing from Farmington Hills, Michigan, Jena was the runner-up of American Idol 2014. In April 2015 Jena signed a long-term recording deal with the independent Detroit label Original 1265 Recording and later released her debut EP, Innocence, in April 2016 and her debut album, Cold Fame, in June 2017.

Cold Fame was written and recorded after Jena spent six months competing on American Idol.   Through her performances on the show and the subsequent tour, fans became familiar with her big voice and daring attitude. But given the chance to write her own narrative, Jena displays a range of sounds and sensibilities that take us through the life of a modern young woman.
