Project Description: 

Epidemiological reports indicate that opioid use and misuse is rising in much of the developed world including the United States and that the Midwest is experiencing this growth faster than any other region of the country. The aim of our project is to better understand opioid use among persons with disabilities living in rural Michigan and to document the access barriers they face when seeking medical services. 




Project Title: 

Prototype Development and Assessment of User Response to Public Health Media

Project Description: 

The project develops prototype and business plan for delivering future CAM student-produced short-form public health educational podcasts from CMED to healthcare providers in Michigan. The preferences of healthcare providers for audio or video podcast delivery for continuing medical education credit programming and for general medical education knowledge will be examined. Data about media mode preference and future topic ideas will be gathered through a survey of healthcare providers throughout Michigan.

Outside agencies, such as MAC-TV, will air/exhibit the final project. Other potential groups are the National Audio Theatre Festivals group, Midnight Audio Theater, and podcast syndicators, such as Wondery.


Project Description: 

This project focuses on the production of a thirteen-episode series revolving around a detective character. CMU students and interested community members will be featured as actors and the project will be directed by TID professor Keeley Stanley Bohn and produced by BCA students. The series will be aired on the student radio station and then external partners will syndicate/exhibit the entire 13 episode series. 




Title: 

Dance Film Collaboration


Description: 

This project will focus on creating a film that tells the story of an elderly couple as they look back on their lives through dance. The completed project will be submitted to national and international dance film festivals and will be used as an example in teaching students to make their own creative work.
