Communication Association

The Communication Association is the COM area's student organization. CMU Debate

Lambda Pi Eta​

Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the official undergraduate National Communication Honor Society of the National Communication Association (NCA).  As an accredited member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS), Lambda Pi Eta has nearly 300 active chapters at colleges and universities worldwide.  Lambda Pi Eta’s Nu Sigma chapter at Central Michigan University was founded on December 10, 2001. 

The goals of Lambda Pi Eta are to:
  • recognize, foster, and reward outstanding scholastic achievement;
  • stimulate interest in the field of communication;
  • promote and encourage professional development among communication majors;
  • provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas about the field;
  • establish and maintain close relationships and understanding between faculty and students;
  • explore options for further graduate studies.

Public Relations Students Society of America and PR Central​

Public Relations Students Society of America (PRSSA) and PR Central, an in-house student agency, are both groups composed of students in our Integrative Public Relations Program .  PRSSA is a national pre-professional organization affiliated with the Public Relations Society of America.  PRSSA students participate in national conferences, fund raising activities, agency tours and network with professionals in addition to numerous other activities.
