MHTV is an award winning student-run television station in the School of Broadcast & Cinematic Arts. It is seen via cable on Central Michigan University's campus and in Mount Pleasant. The television supports a variety of programming including a number of student-run shows.
Central View is a public affairs program which airs biweekly. The program focuses on a varied list of topics that are produced and hosted by students. Sports Central is a biweekly program, which spotlights the collegiate sports activities on CMU's campus. The staff of Sports Central works closely with CMU athletics. Central Premiere Production is a student-run production company, which provides original short form film and television shows for MHTV.
Students pitch program concepts to the television station's executive staff for approval at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. Approved concepts run biweekly as a finished production for the semester. Students interested in getting involved in any of these content development opportunities can do so as soon as they arrive on campus.
The program variety on MHTV offers students endless opportunities to explore and determine their specific area of interest.
