Gina Machuta
Student of the Year

Gina Machuta is an Information Systems major from Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. After graduation, she will be moving to St. Paul, Minnesota to start her job as an IT Process Analyst for 3M. During her time at CMU, Gina served in multiple e-board positions for the SAP Student User Group and assisted with planning the ERPsim Competition.

Alexandria Petix
Student Leader of the Year

Alex is a marketing major with a professional sales concentration. During her time at CMU, Alex has been highly active within multiple student organizations, participated in various sales competitions, and assisted with the planning of the CMU Sales Challenge. Some of her leadership involvements include President of the Central Marketing Society, Co-President of the Wall Street Journal Club, Vice President of Public Relations of Pi Sigma Epsilon, Peer Coach of the CMU Sales Team, and various executive roles in the Business Residential College. She has interned at Hi-Watt Inc, Chemical Bank, and Toyota. This summer she is launching her career as a Management Trainee at Lexus in Chicago.

Joshua Abarca-Munoz
Outstanding Student

Josh is a triple major studying Information Systems, Logistics Management, and Purchasing & Supply Management. He is deeply involved within Alpha Kappa Psi, Logistics Management Council, CMU’s Business Residential College, DECA, Supply Chain Management Association, and SAP Student User Group. Some of Josh’s leadership positions include Chapter President and External Vice President of Alpha Kappa Psi, President of the Logistic Management Council, and Vice President of the Business Residential College. Josh has interned at Marathon Petroleum, Meijer, and 3M. This summer he will be completing his second IT Internships at 3M.

Kirsten Boer
Outstanding Student

Kirsten is an accounting major with a minor in Spanish. She has been involved in several organizations on campus including the Business Residential College, Leadership Safari, Beta Alpha Psi, and the Society of Women in Business. During her four years at CMU, Kirsten has volunteered at the Isabella County Restoration House, spoke to potential students at Fire Up Fridays, and had multiple Executive Board positions. Over the summer, Kirsten will be studying for the CPA exam and then in September, she will be kicking off her career at EY in Grand Rapids.

Andrew Gawryk
Outstanding Student

Andrew is a Finance major pursuing a career within capital markets. During his time at CMU, Andrew has served as Co-President of the Wall Street Journal Club, Co-Chair of the Celani Fund, Portfolio Manager of the Central Finance Club, as well as Vice President and Philanthropy Chairperson for Sigma Chi Fraternity. He recently passed the CFA Level 1 Exam.

Paige Millikin
Outstanding Student

Paige is a personal financial planning major. After graduation, she will be pursuing an accelerated master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in project management. During her time at CMU, Paige has been involved in many student organizations including the Future Financial Advisors Association and the Financial Wellness Collaborative. She was also the Co-Founder and President of the Society of Women in Business.
