Students enrolled in Business Information Systems classes have many tools to success at their disposal. The BIS Department is affiliated with many student organizations. Students can choose to become involved the Association of Technology Professionals (AITP) which offers students various opportunities to increase their knowledge about information technology, including guest speakers, participation in a national conference, social events, and networking with IT professionals. The Central Michigan University SAP University Alliance Student User Group (SAP-UASUG) offers students a chance to employ SAP skills they have gained from course work, outside of class while benefiting from speakers, and networking with their peers. The Greek organization Delta Pi Epsilon a national graduate honors society for the research and education of business offer memberships to BIS students. For real-world experience BIS students can obtain internships with such high profile companies as Eli Lilly and The Dow Chemical Company.
