Financial Assistance

Domestic Students:

Domestic students can apply for financial aid by contacting The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA). The CMU Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA) finds resources from the university, federal, state, and private agencies making it possible for students of all financial backgrounds to attend CMU.

International Students and Domestic Students:

International graduate students are eligible to apply for the following:

1. Graduate Assistantships (GA)

The College of Business Administration offers graduate assistantships to qualified full-time students. Graduate assistants may be employed in one of the academic
departments of the College: Accounting, Business Information Systems, Finance and Law, Management, Marketing and Hospitality Services Administration. GA positions are very competitive and individuals holding these positions are normally assigned to support faculty research.

2. Diversity Fellowships

Diversity Fellowships are administered by the College of Graduate Studies and are awarded to master's students for the entire academic year. More detailed fellowship information and fellowship application materials are available on the College of Graduate Studies website ( http://grad.cmich.edu/internat.htm).

The deadline for submission of all materials is February 6.

3. Diversity Assistantships

Diversity assistantships are awarded on the basis of need and merit and are administered by the College of Graduate Studies. These assistantships are awarded for a period of two years. There are no application deadline.

4. Out-of-State Tuition Merit Awards

This award grants in-state (Michigan resident) tuition to students admitted to a CMU graduate program. It is granted automatically by the College of Graduate Studies; no application is necessary.

5. Legacy Tuition Program

Children and grandchildren of Central Michigan University alumni who live outside Michigan are eligible to attend CMU for in-state tuition rates through the university's alumni legacy program.

6. On-Campus Employment

On-Campus jobs are available, but must be applied for after arrival at CMU. International students may work up to 20 hours per week when classes are in session and up to 40 hours per week when they are not.
