Welcome to the web site for the College of Graduate Studies where serving prospective and current graduate students is our prime concern.
Central Michigan University is a comprehensive higher education institution that is classified by The Carnegie Foundation as a Doctoral Research University. CMU has offered graduate degrees for nearly 50 years and currently provides over 70 graduate degree programs at the master's, specialist, and doctoral levels.
The College of Graduate Studies is the advocate for graduate education at CMU. We are deeply concerned with both the health of our graduate programs and the well-being of our graduate students. We stay in contact with graduate students through our Graduate Student Advisory Council which meets regularly with the associate dean of the college.
On a daily basis, we handle all types of issues affecting graduate students, from admission through the awarding of graduate certificates and degrees. Our staff is extremely service oriented and eager to answer questions or resolve issues for prospective, current, and former graduate students.
We have designed this web site to be user-friendly and to respond to the needs of both prospective and current graduate students. If you have suggestions for how we can improve this site or things that should be added to this site, please let us know. If you have questions about CMU's graduate programs or if you are undecided about an area of specialization, please contact us and we will try to help.
