Prior to joining the ELI faculty, Natalie worked as a translator/interpreter, multicultural worker, and immigration specialist. She has taught English as a foreign language in Rome, Italy as well as private Spanish classes. She has traveled in Mexico, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. In her free time, Natalie enjoys music, cooking, and salsa dancing with her husband.
Natalie received her B.A. in Spanish from the University of Michigan in 2006 and completed a TEFL teaching certificate with TEFL International - Scuola Interlingue Roma in 2007. She completed her M.A. in TESOL at Central Michigan University and has been with the ELI since 2011. Her research interests include phonology, reading and literacy, and she loves to teach grammar!
