Internship Opportunities

Marketing and Communications Student Associate, Steelecase, Grand Rapids, MI

You will collaborate with our marketing and product development teams in all stages of marketing campaigns (development, execution and maintenance). This opportunity will allow you gain marketing skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing strategies and activities. 

Internship Description

  • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
  • Assist in marketing promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web)
  • Prepare presentations
  • Support the pre-, during, and post- processes of product launch
  • Help distribute marketing materials
  • Help organize marketing events

Requirements

Preferred majors: Marketing, Communications, Project Management, English

Preferred major: Junior

Expected Start Date: January/ February 2018

This position is year-round. One must be able to work part-time (15-20 hours) on-site (Grand Rapids) during the school year and full-time (36-40 hours) during the summer.

Our creative department is looking for someone who thinks creatively and is passionate about the craft of writing. Someone who can crack big ideas and tell stories in a fresh way – and one who can continue our tradition of inspiring outdoor experiences. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Creative Writing, Journalism or English
  • 3-5 years of creative copywriting experience with multiple forms of content
  • Ad agency copywriting experience is a plus, along with retail marketing or e-commerce
  • Effective and creative body of work or portfolio
  • Proven track record of delivering compelling concepts within fast-paced team environment
  • Experience working with an art director and/or designer as a team
  • Demonstrated ability of creating effective campaigns through multiple channels: print, digital, video, social media, for both brand-awareness as well as direct marketing (activation) needs
