Student Assistant for Pure Michigan - Lansing, MI

The student intern for Travel Michigan will assist with all activities related to promoting the programs and events of Pure Michigan and tourism efforts in the state which include drafting press releases related to travel industry announcements and assisting with copywriting for print materials or the michigan.org website. Students can expect to produce a substantial amount of written materials that can be published and used for various purposes as well as experience with marketing initiatives.

Communications Intern, Detroit Symphony Orchestra - Detroit, MI

The DSO seeks a Communications Intern for fall/winter 2017. This internship is focused on providing real-world training to those interested in pursuing a career in communications, public relations, journalism, and/or arts administration.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Draft and assist with proofing/editing regular press releases
  • Help to plan and execute social media content
  • Follow and catalog news and trends in the Detroit arts scene and the larger world of classical and orchestra music
Qualifications:
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience with social media beyond the basics--scheduling posts, Facebook ads, growing follower bases, etc.
  • Strong interest in news, media, journalism, and organizational communications
  • Strong interest in arts and culture, especially classical and orchestral music

Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Marketing/Communications Intern

The DEQ has opportunities for unpaid student interns to work in a variety of capacities throughout the DEQ.  Positions are offered across the State of Michigan in the DEQ district offices, the lab, or the field to match student interests and create personally fulfilling assignments and projects.  Interns work directly on key environmental issues, alongside department professionals and executives, and often branch out to work on projects involving the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Agriculture.  All levels of students are encouraged to apply, offering undergraduate, graduate, and law students challenging work in their areas of interest.  Student enrollment is NOT a prerequisite.

HarperCollins Christian Publishing is in search of a Marketing Associate for their Bible Gateway division. The Marketing Associate is responsible for creating, scheduling, and sending internal and sponsored emails, reporting results and conversions, and assisting in the creation and tracking of advertising through other channels. Additional responsibilities include setting up newsletter content, sending emails from publishing partners, trafficking house ads with our ad agency, assisting with management of social media channels, and consolidating and analyzing marketing metrics across channels.

Technical Writer, Automation & Modular Components - Davisburg, MI

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit supporting documentation for maintenance, operational procedures and spare parts manuals. Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding. Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content.
  • Create/modify artwork and images to correctly illustrate equipment, hardware, products and operational procedures from photographs and available drawings using Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts to illustrate material.
  • Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content and methods of reproduction and binding.
  • Maintain all existing and new technical documents with proper version control and version history, and develop processes for storing and archiving all documentation files.
