Why Study German?

  • Germany has an important role to play in the 21st century. With the formation of the
European Union in 1992, the largest single market in the world has been created and
Germany is its economically strongest member.
  • German is spoken not only in the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria and
Switzerland, but it is also the most important language for commerce in Central and
Eastern Europe. Over 100 million people in Europe speak German!
  • With the increasing internationalization of all facets of society, the study of German
will enrich personal lives and complement careers in business, computer science,
economics, engineering, government, history, journalism, law, medicine, music and
    science.
