BRM

CMU students in preparation for LDAC went to the Isabella Rod and Gun Club to train on the fundamentals of marksmanship. The MS3's were the focus of training event. They took their M16s and began with zeroing, eventually qualifying on paper targets. The M-16 has been the main battle rifle of the United States Army since the Vietnam Era, it has had 4 revisions and is currently being replaced by M4s. Training on the gas operated, magazine fed 5.56mm weapon is a requirement for all soldiers. As a special treat, the Cadets were exposed to the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon "SAW" machine gun. The gas operated belt fed 5.56mm weapon is organic to a rifle team.
