Held March 26, 2003, on the campus of Central Michigan University, this panel discussion centered on the role of gender in politics, particularly within Michigan state politics. Present for the forum were The Honorable Patricia Boyle (former Justice, Michigan Supreme Court), The Honorable Maura Corrigan (Chief Justice, Michigan Supreme Court), Debbie Dingell (General Motors' Executive Director for Government and Community Affairs, and also a member of the Democratic National Committee), Beverly Hammerstrom (Republican majority floor leader, Michigan Senate), Terri Lynn Land (Michigan Secretary of State), and Teresa Takai (Director, Michigan Department of Information Technology). The panel discussed the role of gender in political decision making, while also discussing such topics as the unique perspectives women may bring to government and whether or not women have different policy priorities.
