​Thank you for your interest in Pi Sigma Alpha (Omega Beta chapter). Pi Sigma Alpha is an national political science honors society. Omega Beta is Central Michigan University's (CMU's) representative chapter.

This chapter was started by Dr. Rick Kurtz in 2000. Dr. J. Cherie Strachan was the advisor from 2007-2010, Dr. Joyce Baugh 2011-2017 and presently Dr. David Jesuit is the advisor.  

If you are a political science major, minor, or graduate student and you are interested in personal and professional development, access to government officials, scholars in political science, attending conferences, talking about political issues with you peers, and information on internship and employment opportunities, then Pi Sigma Alpha is for you.

What are the requirements?

Undergraduates:

  • PSC Major or Minor with Junior or Senior status
  • Completion of at least 10 semester credits of PSC coursework, including at least one upper-division course
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA overall 
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA in PSC courses 

Graduates:

  • Completion of at least 9 hours of graduate courses in PSC
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA in PSC courses
