The Central Autism Assessment & Treatment Centers provides comprehensive autism assessments for children and adolescents. Assessments are conducted by a multidisciplinary clinical team composed of a pediatrician, speech & language pathologist, and a licensed psychologist. Advanced graduate students have the opportunity to participate in these assessments with a licensed professional.

This comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach allows for individualized assessment with detailed recommendations for families.

Assessments are scheduled as 2-day appointments on select Mondays and Tuesdays.

The diagnostic evaluation typically includes the following:

  • Administration of standardized autism-specific evaluation tools
  • Administration of standardized speech and language tests
  • Administration of additional standardized tests
  • Physical exam
  • Detailed health history
  • Referral for additional tests as needed (e.g. medical testing, genetic testing, etc.)

After the evaluation, the multidisciplinary team will meet to discuss diagnosis, referral, and treatment recommendations.
