​The CHSBS website, social media, and digital screens in Anspach, Pearce, Sloan and Powers are available for announcing events hosted by CHSBS (​departments or RSOs) or events that feature CHSBS faculty and students. We also welcome announcements regarding special awards or recognitions for CHSBS faculty, staff and students. 

CHSBS Website & Social Media
To submit an announcement for the CHSBS website or CHSBS social media, send an email to Sarah Buckley, CHSBS Communications Coordinator & Web Developer, with the following information:

  • Event Name
  • Event Date & Time
  • Event Location
  • Presenter’s Name
  • Presenter’s Title & Affiliation
  • Short Description (one or two sentences)
  • Detailed Description (full bio or longer description for website & calendars)
  • Contact Name
  • Contact Email
  • Contact Phone
  • Flyer, image or advertisement for the event, if available


CHSBS Digital Screens

​CHSBS has digital screens in Anspach, Pearce, Powers and Sloan Halls. The screens project images at a widescreen view of 16:9. Slides that do not meet the 16:9 widescreen format will have black bars added to the edges to fill the gaps. (For example, if a slide is designed in landscape 11x8.5, it will appear with about an inch of black space on each side.)

  • PowerPoint = set slide size to 16:9 (download ​blank template)
  • Image files = 10 in. wide by 5.625 in. tall or 11 in. wide by 6.187 in. tall
  • Word documents = landscape orientation 

Slides should include one or several images or graphics, one bold heading, and 2 to 3 smaller headings or bullet points. Small font sizes do not project clearly onto the screen.

Slides with too much text, poor resolution images/graphics, or fonts that are too small to read may be returned for revisions. Email slide requests to Sarah Buckley.​


Templates for digital screens

​​All announcements that appear on the CHSBS screens must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Event hosted by CHSBS faculty, students, RSOs or departments 
  • Campus events featuring CHSBS faculty, staff or students as panelists/keynote speakers
  • Courses offered in CHSBS
  • Special announcements or awards featuring CHSBS faculty, staff or students
  • Announcements for CMU services offered to students and faculty (example, Career Service fairs or special seminars hosted by CETL)

CMU Events Calendar

The university maintains a digital events calendar for all campus events that are open to the public. Please select CHSBS as a sponsor for the event. This will add the event to the RSS feed on the home page of the CHSBS website.



Our CMU is a quick, easy-to-read e-newsletter containing campus and community news. Each edition includes a list of events taking place that week. ​It is published every Tuesday and Thursday at noon​ during the regular semester. Events must be included on the CMU Events Calendar to be listed in Our CMU.​

CMU Today Announcements

To submit an announcement to the C​MU Today messages, CMU's daily email to faculty & staff, follow the guidelines provided by University Communications (see link below) and send  to CMUtoday@cmich.edu. CMU Today is the best resource for announcing faculty/staff training opportunities or other activities that are not open to the general public.

Weekly Student ​Email

Messages that are considered to be o​f possible interest to most students may be approved for distribution by the Office of Student Activities and Involvement. The likelihood of approval is greatly enhanced when the message is deemed important to most of the student body. Examples include speakers coming to campus, concerts, theatre productions, major social events (e.g., Gentle Friday), and athletic competitions.

The Media Graphix office located in the lower level of the Bovee U.C. provides graphic design and printing services at a discounted rate for CMU faculty, staff & Registered Student Organizations.

Requests for Event Recording & Live Streaming

The Office of Information Technology offers event recording and live streaming services. The services are free for crediting-producing courses. There is a fee for non-classroom events.
