Although a Michigan native, Amy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Castleton State College in Castleton, VT. After graduation she taught high school Spanish at a private boarding school in Vermont and later began working with the Vermont Migrant Education Program, teaching ESL to young adult migrant workers. Since moving to Michigan she has worked as a K-12 ESL teacher for the Mid-Michigan Migrant and ELL Program and now currently as a lecturer at CMU’s English Language Institute. She earned her M.A. in TESOL from Central Michigan University.
As a passionate lifelong learner of Spanish, Amy is an advocate for multilingualism. She focuses much of her teaching energies on making English accessible and comprehensible to beginning learners.
