The Museum of Cultural and Natural History's natural history exhibit "Changing Waters: Environmental Research in the Great lakes" opened in April 2015 and closed in May 2018. The exhibition described current biological research by faculty of
CMU's Institute for Great Lakes Research.
Visitors learned about various topics related to the Great Lakes including invasive species, how the lakes and the animals that live in them have changed over time, and what you can do to help protect them. Interactives included touchscreens, videos, a light up diagram of a freshwater mussel, and a white board where visitors could leave questions for the researchers.
This exhibit also included an accompanying hands-on exhibit: Great Lakes Adventure Children's Gallery.
