The MHR welcomes submissions relating to Michigan's political, economic, social, and cultural history. The editor also welcomes manuscripts in American, Canadian, and Midwestern history that explore important themes related to Michigan's past. Articles should range from approximately 5,000-15,000 words and must be submitted electronically as a Microsoft Word document to mihisrev@cmich.edu. Submissions should be double spaced with footnotes in Chicago Style (17th edition). Full-length articles receive a double-blind, peer review. Research notes and documents are reviewed in-house.

Print subscriptions and individual issues are available here, and the journal is also available electronically through JSTOR®. All content is abstracted and indexed in leading scholarly databases, including EBSCO’s America: History and Life, Clarivate’s Current Contents, and De Gruyter’s International Bibliography of Periodical Literature.

The MHR is published through the support of Central Michigan University, the CMU Department of History, the Historical Society of Michigan, the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan.
