The Review welcomes submissions relating to Michigan's political, economic, social, and cultural history. The editor also welcomes manuscripts in American, Canadian, and Midwestern history that explore important themes related to Michigan's past. Articles should range from approximately 6,000-12,000 words and must be submitted electronically to the e-mail ( linked above. They should be double spaced with footnotes in Chicago Style (17th edition). Full-length articles receive a double-blind, peer review. Research notes and documents are reviewed in-house.

Articles are abstracted and indexed in America: History and Life, Current Contents, International Bibliography of Periodical Literature, and International Bibliography of Book Reviews. Full text of articles are available through JSTORĀ® and in Gale Group's Expanded Academic OneFileĀ®.

The Review is published through the support of Central Michigan University, the CMU Department of History, the Clarke Historical Library, the Historical Society of Michigan, the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan, and the Grand Rapids Public Library.
