Come, practice your German speaking skills! Students from Germany together with our advanced students organize a conversation hour each week in Pearce 329. Improve your speaking skills with games and fun interactive activities. This is also a chance to get to know our German exchange students, find out about German everyday culture and get to know German students from all levels.
Wednesdays (9/19, 10/3, 10/17. 11/7, 11/21, 12/5): 7.00-8.00 pm. in Pearce 329.

Extra Curricular Activities

There are a number of extracurricular activities offered on a regular basis for all German students. Among these are visits to the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills, attending the German Christmas Songfest in Frankenmuth and the German Career Day organized on the campus of Aquinas College. In addition, the German section collaborates with other departments to bring to campus speakers presenting on matters of German language, culture and literature.

Delta Phi Alpha - German Honor Society
Chapter Iota Tau at Central Michigan University offers membership to students at the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester who have met the qualifications. Once initiated, the students are recognized, lifetime members of the Society.
Admission Requirements
- 3.3 average in German
- 2.7 average in university studies overall
- completion of a 200-level German course
