Mariana Rosca, M.D., joined the Central Michigan University College of Medicine in 2014 as an Assistant Professor of Physiology in the Foundational Sciences Discipline. She is an invited reviewer for scientific journals (Circulation, Diabetes, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Cardiovascular Research) and research grants (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), and an editorial board member for the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental therapeutics. Her present laboratory is performing both basic and translational research focused on therapeutic approaches to correct mitochondrial dysfunction in primary mitochondrial diseases as well as in mitochondrial abnormalities induced by diabetes and high-fat diet.
