Welcome to the CMU Psychiatry Clinic
As a student of CMU, psychiatric services are available to you right here on campus. During an initial evaluation, James Hillard M.D. or one of our other psychiatric professionals, will take a complete history, focused on current problems and discuss treatment recommendations or preliminary treatment plans. Dr. Hillard possesses an extensive background in both outpatient and emergency psychiatry in university-based practices, as well as community settings.
An increasing number of students come to university with existing treatment plans. In these cases, we can assist you with your medications and continue your care with your consent. All that is required, is a submitted medical records release form to your doctor at home; allowing CMU Health to obtain the necessary clinical records. As with other CMU Health services, there is a charge for services.
CMU Health Psychiatry and the Counseling Center collaborate for patients in need of additional support. Please visit the Counseling Center web page for more information.
