Office Location: Foust 201D
Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm, closed for lunch noon - 1 pm
The CMU Student Health Services Billing office staff is here and ready to help you with your questions related to medical billing and health insurance.
As a courtesy, CMU Health will bill any insurance – however, we do not “participate” with every insurance and we are not “in network” with every insurance. It is always patient’s responsibility to know exactly how their Insurance Company will process claims that they receive from the CMU Health. We urge patients to call the number on the back of the insurance card and ask questions about your coverage and benefits. Patients should be clear on what their particular policy covers and be prepared to pay any balance left after their Insurance processes the visit charges. Any remaining balance becomes the patient's responsibility, and a statement will be mailed directly to the patient from CMU Health Services.
Important facts your Insurance Company needs to know:
- CMU Student Health Services is not classified as an Urgent Care
- CMU Student Health Services bills as a Physician’s office
Contact your Insurance Company prior to your appointment and ask them if you need a Pre-Authorization before visiting our Clinic.
When visiting CMU Health Services clinics, patients should be prepared to present all insurance information at Registration, including:
- Insurance Card or copy or photo of card
- CMU ID Card
- Personal information about the Subscriber
If you will be visiting the Clinic for the first time, to help speed up the registration process, please print off, complete and bring this Registration Form
