Lourdes Morales-Dopico, M.D.

Assistant Director

Dr. Lourdes Morales-Dopico is an Assistant Director of the Pediatrics Department and an adjunct faculty physician. She joined the CMU Health team in November 2011.  She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Morales-Dopico started her medical studies at the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana, Cuba, and graduated from Central America Health Sciences University. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. After her residency she was appointed to the position of chief resident in pediatrics for one more year. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

Mary Moore, M.D.

Assistant Director

Dr. Mary Moore is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and joined the faculty i​n 2016. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Rheumatology. She graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School, completed her Pediatrics Residency at Pittsburgh Children's Hospital and her Pediatric Rheumatology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Moore has spent the majority of her career in academic medicine and has extensive experience in the management of complex pediatric patients. She is an enthusiastic and skilled teacher. In the past, she was a funded investigator and chair of the IRB, but her focus now is on patient care and medical education. She cares for general pediatric patients at CMU Health Pediatrics and is currenlty scheduling pediatric rheumatology consultations. Her educational and research interests are in general pediatrics and pediatric rheumatology.​

Vishwas Vaniawala, M.D.

Dr. Vaniawala is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and joined CMU as Core Faculty in October, 2017. He earned his medical degree from the Government Medical College, South Gujarat University, Surat, India.
Dr. Vaniawala completed his residency at Michigan State University/Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI. He has been board certified in Pediatrics since 2010. Dr. Vaniawala proudly serves as a member of the “Decision Skills committee” in the American Board of Pediatrics. This committee edits and writes questions for certifying exams administered by the American Board of Pediatrics. Prior to coming to United States, Dr. Vaniawala has worked as a Pediatrician in Kenya for nine years, in Dubai for two years and also did an Observership in Pediatric Cardiology in Munich, Germany. He has vast international pediatric experience in various countries in the world and has a passion for imparting clinical skills and education for medical students and residents.

Adeeba Khan, M.D.Adeeba Khan, M.D.

Dr. Adeeba S. Khan is a board certified General Pediatrician and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She completed her medical school training in India and chose to do her pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM)/Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Dr. Khan completed her residency and received her board certification in 2011. Then, she joined her alma mater (CHM) as faculty and practiced for six years before joining the Pediatrics team at CMU Health. Her areas of interest include management of chronic conditions, such as asthma. She is a staunch advocate and supporter of breastfeeding and is also a member of International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants.
Dr. Khan chose Pediatrics as her field because she firmly believes in being an advocate for and helping children, as they cannot advocate for themselves. With her knowledge, commitment, experience and motivation, she strives to serve as an excellent community pediatrician.

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Erin Hanson is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She joined the CMU Health pediatric team in November 2013. She is board certified to provide care for children aged newborn to 21 years through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Valley State University in 1996. She completed her Master of Science with pediatric nursing specialty from The Ohio State University in 2001. She is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. As a nurse practitioner, she has experience in pediatric neurosurgery and primary care.

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Lisa Jean is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She joined the CMU Health pediatric team in January 2018. She is board certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board and can provide comprehensive care for newborns through patients age 21. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University in 2006 and went on to finish her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 2010. While advancing her degree, she worked in the Pediatric Congenital Heart Unit at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, caring for children with congenital heart defects. She is also a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. Lisa has served the pediatric community of Saginaw as a PNP for the past 7 years and hopes to continue to do so. Her main focus as a pediatric nurse practitioner is primary care.
