Executive Director of Student Affairs

 Charmica AbinojarAs Executive ​Director of Student Affairs, Charmica is responsible for coordination of the operations and activities of the Office of Student Affairs. Such activities include career development; student advising, educational, wellness and social programs. Develop and coordinate student orientation, residency match celebration, white coat ceremony, graduation and other formal Office of Student Affairs programs and events.

​Charmica began working for the College of Medicine in spring 2013. She holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Organization Communication and Leadership and a Bachelor’s of Science degree both from Eastern Michigan University. She is passionate about access to Higher Education, Diversity and Inclusion, and enjoys helping students achieve their goals. ​

​​Christopher Brown 
Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid

Christopher BrownChristopher is responsible for administering the scholarship and federal aid programs for students enrolled in the College of Medicine. Christopher comes to the College of Medicine from the CMU Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid, where he has served as an Assistant Directo​r. Prior to joining CMU, he held various positions in the areas of financial aid and admissions at both Alma College and the University of North Carolina at Asheville.

He received a B.A.in History from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and am M.A. in Educational Administration and Community Leadership from CMU. He began his position with the College of Medicine in October of 2012.

Michele Reynolds 
Assistant Director of Student Affairs

Michele Reynolds Based at the Distributed Campus in Saginaw, Michele works with 3rd and 4th year medical students on financial aid issues, as well as any other questions they may have outside of curriculum. Michele comes to CMU from being a Communication instructor at Delta College and Saginaw Valley State University. Her higher education career includes positions in admissions and orientation, student services, and instruction.

Michele received her B.A. in English Literature and M.A. in Organizational Communication, both from Western Michigan University. She began her position with the College of Medicine in May of 2015.​​

Brian Slenski
Assistant Registrar

Brian SlenskiAs the Assistant Registrar, Brian is responsible for the overall management and coordination of student records and the registration function for the College of Medicine.

Prior to joining CMU, he held various positions in academic and student affairs at Great Lakes Christian College, Alma College, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and Miami University. He received an B.A. in Political Science from Elon University and a M.S. in Counseling and Human Development from Radford University.

Ann Neal
Executive Administrative Assistant

Ann is the executive administrative assistant in the College of Medicine’s Office of Student Affairs. She has been with CMU for over 16 years and in the Office of Student Affairs for just over a year. She is involved in daily activities of the M1 and M2 students, orientation, white coat ceremony, graduation and the everyday activities in OSA. Ann’s favorite part about her job is the students. She loves helping them and making sure they have all their needs met. “I have wanted to be a part of the CMED family since its inception and this position is my dream job!” 

Her hobbies include watching her grandsons play sports, working out, boating, reading and walking her dog.

Rebecca Bogin
Administrative Secretary

Becca is the Administrative Secretary for the Office of Student Affairs. She works with the Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) and Medical Student Council (MSC) to help them with events, elections, and updating their information. She also works on the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) Letters that the students need to obtain a residency. 

Becca has been working for the College of Medicine since December 2016. She received her B.A.A. in Entrepreneurship from Central Michigan University. She is immensely proud to be a part of CMU and the College of Medicine family. Becca enjoys working in the Office of Student Affairs because it allows her to interact with the students and help them work towards their dreams.
