CMU surgery chair serves 2 key organizations

Dr. Anthony Senagore, chair of Surgical Disciplines with the CMU College of Medicine, was recently elected vice chair and chair-elect of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s colorectal surgery residency committee. The group of nine residency committee members is charged with accrediting colorectal surgery residency programs. Dr. Senagore, a surgeon, researcher and professor of general surgery whose specialties include colorectal cancer, will serve one year as the vice chair and two years as the chair. Dr. Senagore also was named president-elect for the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. According to the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons website, “more than 1,000 of the Society's 2,900+ members are certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.”
