Dr. Wagner has served as the Saginaw Valley Medical Control Authority Medical Director since July 2008. He attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas, and completed an Emergency Medicine residency at SUNY Brooklyn/Kings County Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He completed a fellowship in Emergency Medical Services at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he also trained and served as a flight physician with their Air Medical Program. He has years of experience in both emergency medicine and EMS medical direction in other states including Texas, Georgia, Kansas, Pennsylvania and New York.
In addition to Dr. Wagner’s role with the Saginaw Valley Medical Control Authority, he is also the director of the EMS Division of the CMU Emergency Medicine Residency Program. In this role he is program director for the EMS Fellowship. He is an attending staff physician at both St. Mary’s of Michigan and Covenant HealthCare, where he regularly sees patients in the emergency departments. Dr. Wagner is dual certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) in both Emergency Medicine and EMS.
