He holds a PhD in anatomy from Vanderbilt University, and Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University.  Dr. Deaton trained in Family Medicine at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI.  He served in a variety of positions over 32 years, including –

  • Chief of the Medical Staff, General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital
  • Deputy Assistant Surgeon General (Army), the Pentagon
  • Assistant Chief of Staff (Clinical Operations), Great Plains Regional Medical Command
